To save athletes and families resources, we lay out the physical standards college coaches and pro-scouts use to evaluate baseball athleticism. If you don’t meet them yet…GOOD! Now you have a clear goal. A player can build relationships with a coach faster and easier once they can point to real metrics. If you’re not currently meeting these benchmarks, prioritize development first, then reach out when you have numbers, you’re proud to share.
The fastest way to earn a coach’s attention is showing you meet some or all of the standards below.

There is some fluidity with these guidelines. For instance, a player who runs a 6.4 60-yd dash may not need a 90 MPH arm or a 100 MPH exit velocity, and vice versa. However, the better all these numbers are for a baseball player, the more interest they will draw from college coaches.
***Please note that these are guidelines and do not ensure a college coach will be interested in any player. There are other factors that work into the recruiting equation. However, these metrics offer a very accurate insight to the physical abilities of a college baseball player, and achieving these numbers will make high school players more attractive college prospects.
