When I was in high school, I had no idea what I was doing.

So I did everything. Big showcases. Camps. Emails to head coaches. Video packages. Bus tours. Recruiting services. Recruiting companies. I tried every angle I could find.

None of it worked.

**The kid who emails Texas at 5'6" and 130 pounds is not getting recruited.**

That was me. I had no business sending that email. But nobody told me that, so I sent it anyway. I sent a lot of emails like that. I paid for services that promised exposure. I showed up to showcases where I was one of 400 kids in matching jerseys hoping someone with a clipboard noticed.

Looking back, I probably wasted hundreds of hours that could have been spent getting better at baseball. Hours that could have prepared me for my senior year. Hours that could have made my five years of college ball smoother, more productive, less of a scramble.

Instead, I was cruising down the wrong avenue.

**The turning point was embarrassingly simple.**

My high school coach used to be a Division I recruiting coordinator. One day he told me the secrets. And they were not secrets at all. They were basics.

Get good. Get physically developed. Send honest film to coaches who recruit players like you. Stop emailing programs where you have no realistic shot.

I looked around at friends who already had offers. They had done exactly that. No magic. No hidden network. Just the obvious things, done right.
