What Does Your Recruiting System Look Like?

How many coaches have you contacted?

Give me an exact number. Not a range. If you can't answer that right now, you don't have a system. You have a habit you hope is working.

I know you probably spend an hour copying and pasting contact info into spreadsheets. Go to a college website. Hunt for the staff directory. Find one email, maybe two. Paste it into column B. Move to the next school. Ten schools later, 45 minutes gone. Then you write emails. That's another 15 or 20 minutes per school. Over an hour of work just to reach out to a handful of coaches.

Could you tell me right now, off the top of your head, exactly how many coaches you've reached out to? Which ones have responded? Which ones are on your follow-up list?

If the answer is a shrug and a guess, you're not running a process. You're throwing darts.
